Reykjavic, Iceland

We wake up twelve hours rested! Oh my dreams were wonderful! A boy on a trumpet bicycles past blowing a trumpet 2.5 times. Perhaps a Trumpeter Swan? Dan later tells me me Gerrit played trumpet. Chills,
Scavenging for breakfast. Muesli. . . Cornflakes and powdered coffee. We eat, shower and go downstairs to the gallery to meet Elsa Bjog Mugnusdötter our host.
Then walkies. The tourist info looking for our Flybus pick up location. Then in and out of a few shops. I have sticker shock! I buy a t shirt and one for pastor Chris. Then a Christmas tree angel.
Lunch at Frederiksens Dan has a beautiful hot dog and fries. I choose the hearty meat soup, scary! It is lovely carrots, rutabaga and potato with leek and lamb. Its traditional Icelandic fare;) oh, and an Arctic Pale Ale.

I read to Dan about Iceland's history. Being one with Denmark. Then being invaded by Britain, then occupied by the Canadians and then 50000 Americans here protecting the port against u boats and Axis.
We walk to the waterfront to see the harbor.
Then home to rest up. If I could do one think it would be to see Northern Lights but the tours are at 2100 and hundreds of dollars to drive a few miles out of town! They can be seen on a clear dark night from anywhere I understand;) as long as the sun is making particles.

So we stroll a new part of town, more stylish and spot a new restaurant Jamie's...
We pick up groceries for the morning, bananas, yogurt and a croissant, run home, freshen up and. Return at 6:30 to eat.
I swear they addressed us in Icelandic! When we said, "Huh?" They asked if we have a reservation;) no.
We got seated, ordered two wine,  a salad with mint, red endive and oranges and a margarita pizza for $75. Yes we share! At home we enjoyed milk chocolate from Jahnavee's mom and turned out the lights, rolling up the shades. Now we are ready for the light show to begin!

Happy Happy fed and content!
