Bath Heathrow Reykjavic iceland

Bath- Heathrow- Reykjavik, Iceland

The alarms rings at half past six. We snooze on, i reach up for the small light switch and burrow under the rose patterned quilt one last time. Bath has been so healing!
I prepare hot water to top off last night's decaf and make Dan a full strength Nescafe.
Showered, dressed, no longer sweaty, we zip our suitcases and lock up. On the wet slick street we pause while Dan goes into 3 Abbey Green for our packed breakfasts. And we tool our way through alleyways in tepid morning night to the Bus Terminal.
"May I have a word?" I interrupt two employees to ask which gate to Heathrow. "1 and 2".
We board, sign on for wifi and begin the two hour trip on expressways. Breakfast includes a yogurt, croissant apple granola bar and orange juice from Marks and Spencer.
We arrive only ten minutes late and head to a lift that will carry us to the proper terminal two. It's spacious, modern and meticulous. The employees are helpful. We easily check in, use the plastic quart bag to remove liquids, drop luggage and proceed to our gate. Dan buys a chicken and corn sandwich. I need a wide tooth comb and water please.
Then we board. While waiting I begin The Hollow City, book 2 of Mrs. Peregrines Peculiar Children. Dan is still reading about Prince Charles. We take off, are offered a beverage and settle in to read.
We land on the most desolate space ever and Dan is apologizing! Its scoured with black lunar land and flat;)
We ride for an hour on a bus, the sea appears and then mountains. We are here to pay homage to Gerrit Van Zante dan's childhood friend and comb the city. Not grab a tour and ride horses, kayak, snowmobile or try the blue lagoon.
We drop our suitcases and go to dinner. A veggie burger for me and fish and chips for Dan. Our bill is $78.

Home to sleep, perchance to dream!
